Battle of Britain Aircraft Limited Edition

The Battle of Britain began in July of 1940 and lasted till October 1940.  This was Germany's attempt to gain air superiority over England and possibly have the nation surrender.  Germany targeted coastal shipping convoys and ports, aircraft manufacturing facilities and military infrastucture, and lastly areas of political significance and restored using a terror bombing strategy known as the "blitz."  Germany's failure to control the skies over England during this time is considered to be a crucial turning point in the war that would have an major effect on both sides till the end of the war.

Let us therefore brace ourselves to our duties, and so bear ourselves that, if the British Empire and its Commonwealth last for a thousand years, men will still say, "This was their finest hour."  WInston Churchill, weeks before the Luftwaffe could be heard flying over England

This print showcases England's two fighters, the Hawker Hurricane Mk 1 & Supermarine Spitfire Mk1, and Germany's Messerschmitt Bf 109E-4.
